Resignificación de la escuela de los comuneros, preservando el inmueble para la Alcaldía local de San Cristóbal

Abstract

La escuela de los comuneros que hoy en día se conoce como Alcaldía Local de San Cristóbal, funciono como un componente importante en el desarrollo de la localidad, ya que junto con las primeras fabricas formaron el sentido de barrios obreros. En la figura 1 se evidencia una fotografía tomada en el año 1934 la cual muestra la escuela de Los Comuneros finalizada a mediado de ese año. El barrio San Blas tenía tres fábricas importantes las cuales ejercían como ladrilleras y creación de tejidos. Con la conformación de las industrias se diseñó la escuela de los comuneros con el fin de conectar con las entidades que se ubicaban en los barrios cercanos al sector y brindar un aporte en la educación de la población obrera que habitaban el lugar. La escuela presento diversos cambios a sus alrededores, pero conservando el carácter de la construcción original. La función educativa cambio a uno de carácter gubernamental donde se adaptaron los espacios a las necesidades que requería una alcaldía. Dentro de las zonas libres se realizaron tres construcciones con el fin de ampliar la edificación y se estableció como Bien De Interés Cultural (BIC) de categoría de Conservación Tipológica. Sin embargo, es necesario hacer una intervención a la infraestructura del inmueble con el de cumplir con la visión establecida por el Plan de Desarrollo Local el cual en el capítulo 1, artículo 2 establece que “Para 2028 San Cristóbal será reconocida como un territorio de oportunidades para el desarrollo humano, el buen gobierno, el fortalecimiento organizacional, el desarrollo sostenible, según La Junta Administradora local de San Cristóbal (2019) y presentar espacios mejor adaptados a los requerimientos de una alcaldía moderna. Por otro lado, la Escuela de Los Comuneros de cierta manera no cuenta con el reconocimiento correspondiente a su historia. La escuela junto con las primeras fabricas funcionaron como los primeros asentamientos de San Cristóbal, por ende, fue de importancia para la configuración urbana de la localidad.

The school of the community members, which today is known as the Local Mayor's Office of San Cristóbal, functioned as an important component in the development of the town, since together with the first factories they formed the sense of working-class neighborhoods Figure 1 shows a photograph taken in 1934 which shows the school of Los Comuneros completed in the middle of that year. The San Blas neighborhood had three important factories which acted as brick kilns and the creation of fabrics. With the formation of the industries, the school of the community members was designed in order to connect with the entities that were located in the neighborhoods near the sector and provide a contribution to the education of the working population that inhabited the place. The school presented several changes to its surroundings, but preserving the character of the original construction. The educational function changed to a governmental one where the spaces were adapted to the needs required by a mayor's office. Within the free zones, three constructions were carried out in order to expand the building and it was established as an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC) in the category of Typological Conservation. However, it is necessary to make an intervention to the infrastructure of the property in order to comply with the vision established by the Local Development Plan which in chapter 1, article 2 establishes that "By 2028 San Cristóbal will be recognized as a territory of opportunities for human development, good governance (...) organizational strengthening, sustainable development" (The Local Administrative Board of San Cristóbal, p.2) and present spaces better adapted to the requirements of a modern mayor's office. On the other hand, the School of Los Comuneros in a certain way does not have the recognition corresponding to its history. The school, together with the first factories, functioned as the first settlements of San Cristóbal, therefore, it was of importance for the urban configuration of the town.
