Paisajes incógnitos: estudio de paisaje del Piedemonte Llanero en Villavicencio

Abstract

Villavicencio is the capital of the “Piedemonte llanero”, where the Colombian Orinoquía connects with the rest of the country, weaving the mountainous area with the immense plain. This union of ecosystems turns Villavicencio into a landscape in transition, a cultural and economic corridor of great importance. The recognition of the landscape specifically on the western edge of Villavicencio city, is proposed from a landscape study as a tool that allows establishing strategies to protect and value, besides carrying out management actions for the “Piedemonte llanero”, aimed to mitigate the environmental impacts generated by urbanization, the different uses of the land and the dynamics of living. Likewise, define measures for the future development of the territory, so that the natural heritage is preserved and fosters a sense of belonging to the place, using this instrument that provides criteria to recognize the character of the territory and value the attributes of the landscape.
