Intervención Urbano-Rural en el barrio Barandillas del Municipio de Zipaquirá

Abstract

The Barandillas neighborhood is located in the rural area of the municipality of Zipaquirá, and is known for having industrial companies that produce ornamental plants and vegetables. This neighborhood is an important factor within the municipality, since it contributes to the economic dynamics of the region by generating employment for its inhabitants in various economic sectors. However, in spite of the fact that the neighborhood allows economic growth in the municipality, it does not have an adequate articulation with the city, generating that its inhabitants have to spend long periods of time for their mobilization. The existing green areas and public spaces are deteriorating and the existing facilities do not meet the needs of the inhabitants. In view of the above, the proposal of an urban-rural intervention that contributes to the improvement of the articulation with the city arises. The urban-rural proposal will reconfigure the existing fabric, morphology and typology in order to generate a connection between the rural area and the urban area, through pocket parks, block centers, small squares, dynamic circulations and agricultural production that will benefit the inhabitants of the neighborhood and surrounding sectors. Likewise, a commercial strip was generated allowing the inhabitants of the sector to have a source of economic income contributing to the economic growth of the neighborhood. This proposal seeks to catalog Barandillas as a neighborhood with agricultural potential with habitable, recreational and cultural spaces.
