    Abstract

    Colombia se caracteriza por ser un país con una geografía quebrada, por esto el desarrollo del transporte de pasajeros en el país ha ido cambiando, en un principio fue fluvial, luego férreo, ahora el transporte de pasajeros en el país principalmente es aéreo y terrestre, donde este último es muy predominante, especialmente en las principales ciudades del país. De acuerdo a un diagnostico a nivel nacional, se encontraron una serie de terminales terrestres de pasajeros ubicadas estratégicamente en los principales corredores viales del país, estas terminales en su gran mayoría se encuentran en muy mal estado, obsoletas o simplemente no cuentan con las instalaciones necearías para su funcionamiento. Esta investigación nace a partir de las potencialidades y problemáticas que posee la ciudad de Palmira (Valle del Cauca), por lo tanto, mediante la estrategia de intervención, se propone un diseño arquitectónico para una nueva y primera terminal de transporte terrestre de pasajeros para la ciudad, donde se organice el transporte de pasajeros por tierra que actualmente se encuentra en total desorganización, donde se ve afectada la movilidad, seguridad, comodidad servicio y calidad de los usuarios.
