IETS Ciudad Usme: Instituto de Educación Técnico Superior enfocado en prácticas agrícolas

Abstract

It was observed that the superior and technical education facilities of the city of Bogotá are grouped on the northwest of the city, not on the outskirts of the city, which limits the access of the rural population to higher education. The rural population in order to access higher education must travel long distances, which is why there is a high rate of school dropout in the rural area, affecting mainly the young population. Taking into account the above, the idea of designing an institute of higher education and technique in the town of Usme was born, because it has 75% of rural land and is located within the 2 areas that provide the highest percentage of the agricultural production in the city of Bogotá. This equipment aims to improve access to higher education for the rural population and contribute to the minimization of the educational dropout rate. In the first stage of this project, a theoretical research was carried out taking into account the diagnoses of the UPZ Ciudad de Usme, collecting data and inventory, to establish the current situation and determine the main problems of the sector. The second stage begins with the realization of a basic scheme, based on the problems identified in the diagnosis and according to the partial plan of three streams, is proposed in one of the farms intended for agriculture, the option to develop the project in question . With the development of the design phase, it is possible to demonstrate how, from an equipment of these characteristics, the productive areas of the periphery of the city can be strengthened, creating areas that encourage the effective interaction of the population with their surroundings, contributing new spaces that articulate with the environment and improving the identity of the place.
