    Abstract

    La carrera Quinta es la vía departamental ubicada en Cota Cundinamarca, se encarga de conectar el municipio con Bogotá atraviesa longitudinalmente la plaza principal del pueblo dividiéndola en dos espacios rompiendo el carácter de plaza pública y configurando el desarrollo del protagonismo hacia el vehículo. Como eje central de este espacio público se propone deprimir la vía, de tal manera que desaparezca sobre la plaza principal pero que conserve su funcionalidad. El propósito es reducir el índice de accidentalidad, remover totalmente el vehículo de la plaza, replantear este espacio proyectado a escala humana proponiendo un ambiente confortable pensado desde las necesidades de las personas y para las personas, implementar zonas verdes, mobiliario y comercio ordenado, brindar una plaza que invite a la permanencia y que tenga apropiación por parte de sus habitantes devolviendo además la caracterización ancestral del municipio, por medio del diseño se plantea rescatar características de la cultura Muisca.
