Entre lo divino y lo urbano: Armenia, Quindío a través de sus templos.

Abstract

This research mainly addresses the religious immovable heritage of Armenia, Quindío, Colombia, understanding the meaning and tradition that the temples have in relation to the urban construct and their memorable participation in the configuration of the city. It presents a hermeneutical historical investigative approach. The study sample includes four temples in the municipality; among them, Catedral La Inmaculada Concepción, Templo Parroquial San Francisco de Asís, Santuario Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, and Parroquia del Espíritu Santo. In that sense, the techniques to carry out the research are observation and survey. In response, the heritage degradation of the previously mentioned temples is inferred, the disappropriation and ignorance of the issue by the community, the mutation in the dynamics of the urban context, the change of uses, abandonment and insecurity. Therefore, it is concluded that there is an accelerated detriment to religious property; Furthermore, in the camouflage of the temples in the current urban context and the lack of public policies that protect the religious architectural heritage of the city.
