Ecopark Tunjuelo la senda como estrategia de reconfiguración del borde urbano en la localidad de Bosa - Bogotá

Abstract

Bogota has a network of water systems important for the environmental development of the city, representing natural boundaries and limits in the city. The Tunjuelo River is the longest river in Bogotá with 73 km, originating in the Chisacá reservoir and flowing into the Bogotá River, which makes it the most important water body in the city. This element of the main ecological structure has presented a series of problems in its landscape configuration, caused by a phenomenon of urban expansion in the city and its growth towards the periphery, coincidentally at the edge of the Tunjuelo river where the population has settled through informal settlements, configuring an unplanned urban edge affecting the water body being exposed to flood risks due to the rupture of the jarillones that protect the rising water level of the river. The present investigation is based on identifying the factors that increase in a progressive way the deterioration of the water course and evaluate the possible strategies to implement in the intervention area to recover the ecosystemic value of the Tunjuelo river located in the low basin of the locality of Bosa, by means of the development of effective public space so that the population can get involved with the project, establishing the reconfiguration of the urban border limiting the river and its consolidation in the future, establishing itself as a pilot plan applicable to territories with similar problems of urban expansion and affectation of water bodies.
