Estudio de la Transformación del Barrio la Perseverancia, Bogotá D.C.

Abstract

The present research will study the physical-spatial transformations evidenced during the course of the years in the Barrio La Perseverancia, located in the city of Bogotá D.C. From its origin, the neighborhood has been characterized as a working-class neighborhood and this has been the factor that has given the socio-cultural identity of its inhabitants, known as working families. The houses where they live have been the product of self-constructions, which went through different modifications caused by turning points in the history of this neighborhood, alterations that may have different reasons such as variation of trades or occupations, solution of user needs, socio-cultural changes, etc. There are documents that talk about the history of the neighborhood and describe the process that took the inhabitants the construction of their homes, identifying the collective union and the appropriation of their social space, which will be addressed and will serve as a study for the purpose that is intended to be done at the research, social and architectural level, to provide a result of the urban aspect and the ways of living in this sector for the present, linking with the social-cultural and temporal effects of the changes. Thus, the purpose of the study is the identification of the transformations in the Barrio La Perseverancia. Therefore, to fulfill the objectives in this research, a methodology is developed that starts from four generations of study, divided into three categories of analysis: Socio-cultural, Temporal and Physical-to obtain the crossing of information that justifies the alterations in these residences.
