Parque ecológico Mano de Oso: revitalización ambiental sobre los cerros orientales en el Barrio Soratama, Bogotá D.C.

Abstract

The Cerros Orientals are an important part of the edge of the capital city of Colombia connecting from north to south until reaching Sumapaz, this space is currently declared a protected area. However, this happened because years ago, this area was the victim of quarrying and deforestation, which affected native flora and fauna. To date, there are approximately 60 neighborhoods in the Cerros Orientals reserve, which was declared a Protected Forest Reserve in 1977 for ecosystem conservation. One of the neighborhoods located on the hills is Soratama, which belongs to Local Planning Unit No. 25 of the city of Bogotá. This neighborhood was born because of the informal development that occurred in the mid 50's, as a result of migration generated by the violence in the country at that time, these situations led people to arrive in the capital and build housing for self-build in empty or abandoned properties they found; For this reason, it is proposed that by means of passive recreational, cultural and sports activities that generate a function on those limits of the neighborhood mentioned above; In such a way that this not only benefits the sector in socio-cultural matters, but also giving protection and control over what belongs to the rural land of protection, thus limiting its growth on this area and promoting dynamism on the urban land that borders with it.
