Abstract

The project is the revitalization of the old Josef Rosenthal factory, bringing with it a housingproposal for students that articulates the heritage object with the public space, thus seeking urban sustainability and the performance of activities in the factory. On the other hand, the student residences were designed through the open building theory, establishing four buildings that, inclined towards the northeast, allow the passage of light to the north in order to have the passage of the sun in this area, since it was shown that during all the months of the year there was no natural light entering, this with the implementation of voids in different points of each floor of the building, generates a housing design with natural light through its facades. The first level was proposed with an open floor plan for the development of commercial activities and living areas that are adapted to the public space, through interconnected squares that are integrated into the urban environment, developing the revitalization of the old factory as well as the reactivation of its spaces with a program established for the community, generating sustainability and the recovery of the memory of industrial heritage.
