Nueva terminal de transporte orientada a la movilidad multimodal en el municipio de Chía

Abstract

A transport terminal is a space that generates the arrival and departure of vehicles oriented to the public transport service in an urban center, determining the orderly and strategic mobility of the users of mass, regional and interdepartmental public transport. The municipality of Chía needs to expand its demand capacity for mobility services through a terminal that generates a relationship with the rest of the municipalities and Bogotá, which is the destination of 44% of the people who use the intermunicipal bus as their main means In the same way, the new space for the transport terminal must meet the demand needs of other modes of transport that have recently been added, such as bicycles, an organized system of urban buses and the future implementation of the regiotram that will connect the municipality with the capital of the republic and other neighboring municipalities. For this purpose, an analysis has been carried out that establishes an interpretation of the conditions of the current problem and the formulation of some objectives in order to carry out a project that leads to the design of a transport terminal with modern characteristics and strategically located to respond to the actual needs.
