Abstract

The cultural connect s3 project is carried out in order to meet the demand for transportation generated in the region of Guaviare, because its capital San José del Guaviare has 61% of the commercial activity in the department, where the wholesale trade is agricultural. However, there is a connectivity, air, land and river deficit for the different demand for commercial cargo and passenger transport; In addition, 60% of passengers annually to San José belong to the tourism sector, which does not correspond to the existing infrastructure. Therefore, there is a need to generate a transport connection potential and a new infrastructure design, which responds to the needs of San José del Guaviare, the region and the various connections because demographic growth and the necessity to plan the airport’s relocation. The cultural connect s3 is projected for 2037, promoting ecotourism and transport potential. The project proposes the design and relocation of the airport, integration with the land terminal, connection to the river port, and the design of a cultural pavilion that integrates culture and transportation through the identification of social, physical and cultural factors. This will allow to have a connectivity from the rural area to the urban area and to solve the different needs of the region in terms of transport and to generate new employment opportunities. Likewise, the design has architectural and urban elements that adapt and generate an alternative response to the population.
