Initially, we implemented a survey in digital format, in order to identify the level of technological literacy of the students, as well as their habits, motivations and frequency of digital communication, in order to determine the applicability of Google Earth as part of the implementation of a pedagogical strategy. Once the pedagogical proposal was designed, it was implemented in a second moment of the research, in which qualitative data was collected through participant observation. In a third moment, we applied an interview aimed to identify the perception of the students about the use of Google Earth as a tool for learning geography. The results of this study allow us to highlight the multiple possibilities offered by Google Earth for the teaching and learning of geography, combining theory with practice.     Abstract

    Este proyecto busca ser un aporte a la reflexión sobre el uso de las TIC en el campo de la didáctica de las Ciencias Sociales, ya que su objetivo es determinar el impacto motivacional de una estrategia didáctica con el uso de Google Earth como herramienta para el aprendizaje en torno a la influencia de la geografía en la organización social y económica de Colombia, en estudiantes del grado noveno del Gimnasio Psicopedagógico de Suba. En un primer momento se implementó una encuesta en formato digital, en la cual se identificó el nivel de alfabetización tecnológica de los estudiantes, así como sus hábitos, motivaciones y frecuencia de comunicación digital, a fin de determinar la pertinencia del uso de Google Earth como herramienta en la implementación de una estrategia didáctica contextualizada en torno a la temática anteriormente mencionada. Una vez diseñada la propuesta, ésta fue implementada en un segundo momento de la investigación en el que, a su vez, se recolectaban datos cualitativos mediante la observación participante. En un tercer momento, se realizó una entrevista que logró identificar la percepción que los estudiantes tuvieron respecto con el uso de Google Earth como herramienta en la implantación de una estrategia didáctica para el aprendizaje de la geografía. Los resultados de este estudio permiten evidenciar múltiples posibilidades que ofrece Google Earth para la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de la geografía, combinando la teoría con la práctica. En concordancia, los resultados de esta investigación evidenciaron que esta estrategia didáctica potencio el aprendizaje de temáticas vinculadas con el currículo institucional, en relación con los estándares básicos de competencias en Ciencias Sociales propuestos por el Ministerio de Educación Nacional
