Panorama emergente: Centro de investigación ambiental para la provincia de Sumapaz

Abstract

The project is located in the Municipality of Pandi Cundinamarca, Sumapaz Province, 103 kilometers from Bogotá. It is a territory where pollution and environmental deterioration has been increasing in the last 10 years, extinguishing several species of fauna, flora and aquatic ecosystems. to the inappropriate use of agrochemicals and pesticides used for agriculture and livestock in the upper part of the Municipality. The main damage is generated in the upper part of the municipality due to the irrigation of chemical agents in the water sources that generate pollution in the lower part of it, thus affecting the flow of the most emblematic river in the area, the Sumapáz River through the flows and runoff that are born in the Nanche blade; in the highest point of the municipality descend these products that deteriorate the environment and forests in their path. That is why the need arises to create an Environmental Research Center that allows the territory to be revived by means of all the elements that inhabit it, where each element in the landscape emerges, creating a joint work for the resilience of the territory.
