Patio, Zaguán, pasillo: Intervención de los espacios privados y públicos en la manzana compacta del barrio Egipto

Abstract

Egipto neighborhood has set following the regulations established the Indies Laws1, where the blocks were defined by the orthogonal streets, with the growth of the city; the urban planning in 1982 adopted the “Plan Vial de la Av. Circunvalar”2, fragmenting urban activities of the public square and dwellings, forming new social dynamics as tenements in inefficient conditions. Different activities persist in the collective memory where which one define their housing conditions due the previous experience, his ability to invent and innovate in the space, either to individual or collective activities; in this particular neighborhood the cultural, religious and gastronomical activities are highlighted, where the absence of a part of the public square, forcing the inhabitants to invade the road space, claiming the previous spatial image to the construction of the track. The approach to the project aims to connection of the hall to access the courtyard through corridors inside of the compact blocks in the zone; taken from the constructive typologies of dwellings existing colonial and republican, articulated with architectural elements that complement the housing structure, functional and services; to retrieve the appropriation and belonging of the population for the territory.
