Abstract

“The wetlands of Bogota are ecosystems of a huge biological, social and cultural importance , In the same way, the Principal Ecological Structure are part of the Protected Areas System, understood as the set of spaces with unique values for the natural heritage, whose conservation is essential for the operation and conservation of biodiversity and the evolution of culture in the Capital District "(Secretaría Distrito de Ambiente, SDA 2008). Taking into account their importance in different aspects, these areas present a series of problems with great incidence in the sector that affects not only the integrity of the ecosystem, in this case, the Juan Amarillo Wetland, but also its environment. The high degree of pollution and deterioration of the wetland is caused by the growth and urban expansion of the sector, the lack of appropriation of the local inhabitants and the low participation of the competent entities that regulate the protection of the same, are one of the main Problems; The focus of the present work is to achieve the recovery and revitalization of the Juan Amarillo Wetland through strategies that apply the "Transects" theory, improving the environmental character, the urban morphology of the sector, and the quality of life of the inhabitants, integrating this important element To the city through a system of inclusive public space, dynamism of the place from the activities that are made there and the development of different densities that allow the improvement of the existing urban conditions.
