Esta investigación parte de los efectos generados por la intervención realizada hacia finales del siglo XX, sobre la actual avenida Jiménez, entre carreras 1ª y 10ª, en donde a través del concepto de que el Río San Francisco estaba sucio y sus aguas eran insalubres, se llevó a cabo la canalización que lo sepultó, hasta que con la intervención realizada por el arquitecto Rogelio Salmona, se le devolvió a la ciudad el recuerdo de que ahí hubo un río, a pesar de esto actualmente, el proyecto genera altos costos de un mantenimiento mensual que no se ven, la percepción del agua en la avenida Jiménez no es la mejor, y varias zonas del proyecto se han visto afectadas por el paso del transporte público a lo largo de la Av. Jiménez, uso que no fue contemplado inicialmente en el diseño del eje ambiental. Partiendo de este hecho, los impactos ambientales tanto negativos como positivos han causado una nueva percepción del lugar y un cambio, refiriéndonos al impacto ambiental que se ha causado sobre la Av Jimenez desde la intervención del Arquitecto Salmona hasta el día de hoy, por esta razón, se propone un nuevo proyecto de renovación urbana, donde no solo se busca que tenga un impacto ambiental favorable en el sector, sino que también genere conciencia de la importancia que tienen los cuerpos de agua para toda la ciudad, generando una imagen de naturalidad en el río y de alguna forma se recupere un poco el sistema ecológico que existió en un tiempo, teniendo en cuenta las nuevas dinámicas sociales que se dan en el sector.

Based on this fact, the negative and positive environmental impacts have caused a new perception of the place and a change, referring to the environmental impact that has been caused on the Avenue Jimenez, from the intervention of the Architect Salmona to the present day, it is proposed A new urban renewal project that not only has an environmental impact in the sector, but also generates awareness of the importance of water bodies for the whole city, so that the naturalness of the river is maintained and in some way Recover a little the ecological system that existed in a while, taking into account the new social dynamics that are given in the sector.
