Análisis del sistema de estabilización implementando el uso de neumáticos como muro de contención de viviendas, caso de estudio vereda Ospina Pérez municipio de Palermo – Huila
(Universidad La Gran Colombia, 2024) Salcedo Rodríguez, Mabel Zahira
The use of alternative materials in civil construction is increasing, due to the great challenge that Colombia has in reducing pollution generated by the poor disposal of solid waste, such as tires. These are being used as alternatives to improve resistance and durability properties of materials, due to their multiple advantages in improving physical properties such as impermeability, cushioning, increased friction, acoustic insulation, anti-vibration, resistance to large earthquakes by absorbing energy. of vibrations, among others. The use of recycled tires for retaining walls is increasingly common in areas with high slopes. These walls are usually built by people with empirical knowledge, without taking into account a prior load analysis in their construction process. In Colombia, this type of construction is not evident in any technical regulations. This research seeks to analyze the geotechnical behavior of the retaining walls for housing built with tires in the Ospina Pérez village of the municipality of Palermo, department of Huila. The stability results for the case study are carried out using a static analysis, without considering the passive pressure of the soil and those generated by the pressure of water. A safety factor was obtained for sliding of 1.26 and for overturning of 1.51. Through finite element modeling, using the Midas GTS NX, geotechnical analysis software, it is determined that the behavior of the tire interacts as a membrane that uniformly distributes the forces applied on its surface to the tire-soil system. In the modeling of the current system of the case study, the displacements and maximum shear forces develop at the base of the wall, so some alternatives are proposed to increase its stability

Estudio de la variabilidad de color en muestras de asfalto por adición de componentes químicos
(Universidad La Gran Colombia, 2023) Murcia Gerena, Rosemberg Duvan; Borda Prada, Olga Lucia
This research work seeks to change the color of a conventional asphalt by implementing chemical components that generate a physical reaction to the color change. The main material used was asphalt 60-70, which was characterized by means of test: softening point, ductility, penetration, rotational viscosity, density by the Archimedes method and the effect of heat and air on the asphalt in thin and rotating sheets. Next, asphalts were prepared with ferric oxide at dosages of 6 and 8 %, ferric hydroxide of 30 and 80 %, chromic oxides of 15 and 50 %, chromium sulfate of 6 and 8 % and acrylic emulsion of 8 %. Finally, the added asphalts that showed a representative physical reaction to the color change were subjected to softening point, ductility, and penetration tests to determinate the variability of these properties at the moment of the color change by means of the chemical components used. In addition, the analysis and discussion of the results obtained, the conclusions drawn from the development of this project and a series of recommendations to be taken into account in future works were presented.
