Un primer objetivo es identificar los aspectos socioculturales, económicos y medioambientales del área de estudio más allá del desierto de la Tatacoa, para luego delimitar unidades de paisaje que por sus áreas relativamente homogéneas y recursos paisajísticos se diferencian con claridad. Finalmente se proponen acciones enmarcadas en estrategias de gestión y regulación para el desarrollo sostenible del municipio como paisaje integral.The geo-cultural study area located to the north of the department of Huila, in the municipality of Villavieja, has great tourist importance, due to its geomorphological attractiveness, low light pollution and the fossil deposits of the Tatacoa desert, which, however, have been unsustainably managed, leading to negative impacts associated with increased vehicular traffic, waste collection and disposal, and water pollution. A first objective is to identify the socio-cultural, economic and environmental aspects of the study area beyond the Tatacoa desert, in order to then delimit landscape units, where homogeneous areas and landscape resources are recognized.
