El reciclaje es esencial para la sostenibilidad ambiental, ya que reduce la cantidad de residuos en vertederos, ahorra energía y recursos naturales, y minimiza la contaminación del suelo y del agua, por lo tanto, para abordar esta problemática, es crucial desarrollar una estrategia integral que incluya centros integrales bien equipados y accesibles, así como campañas de educación y concienciación para fomentar la participación ciudadana; a raíz de esto se evidencia que la localidad de Engativá de Bogotá es una de las localidades con una alta producción de residuos en dirección al relleno sanitario Doña Juana por lo tanto uno de los barrios que destaca su labor por contrarrestar esta problemática es el barrio Luis Carlos Galán por albergar una considerable población de recicladores y por promover desde sus inicios el uso y manejo responsable de los residuos reciclables. Por lo tanto, el diseño y construcción de un centro integral en el barrio Luis Carlos Galán tiene como objetivo primordial disminuir los índices de producción de residuos en dirección al vertedero ofreciendo ventajas como conservar recursos naturales, beneficios económicos, mejorar el bienestar general de la sociedad y el medio ambiente y enfocándose en resaltar el rol crucial del barrio como punto focal en el manejo y almacenamiento de residuos reciclables.One of the great current challenges is the management of recyclable waste due to the lack of adequate infrastructure. Therefore, one of the neighborhoods that stands out for its work to counteract this problem is the Luis Carlos Galán neighborhood because it is home to a considerable population of recyclers and because it has promoted the responsible use and management of recyclable waste since its inception.
