Aunque Mompox es uno de los Municipios con mayor potencial debido a su historia, que se remonta a la época de la Colonia, por su turismo arquitectónico ubicado en el casco urbano. Las riquezas de estos territorios en fauna, flora y demás ecosistemas, hace que puedan posicionarse a nivel de su belleza arquitectónica. Para la ejecución de este proyecto se seleccionó el barrio Primero de Mayo, haciendo énfasis en los asentamientos informales, las dinámicas sociales y la perspectiva histórica. Tras la fundación del barrio una madrugada el día Primero de Mayo sobre los años 1970. Ahora bien, Mompox y su Centro Histórico han sido declarados Patrimonio de la Humanidad por su bella arquitectura colonial, y el turismo como una de las principales fuentes de economía del Municipio que es desarrollada en el casco urbano. Sin embargo, los asentamientos rurales como el barrio Primero de Mayo, dan entrada a las ciénagas principales del Municipio y algunos cuerpos de aguas lo que aumenta su riqueza y valor tangible. La selección para la ejecución del proyecto arquitectónico permitirá potencializar el barrio rural, creando un nuevo atractivo turístico para el Municipio con enfoque ambiental y ecológico.In Colombia, the development of cultural and tourist facilities from an ecological approach, are architectural projects whose potential and benefits are emerging until now. For the execution of this project, the Primero de Mayo neighborhood was selected, emphasizing the informal settlements and the historical perspective after the founding of the neighborhood one morning on May Day in the 1970s. Now, Mompox and its Historic Center have been declared a World Heritage Site for its beautiful colonial architecture, and tourism as one of the main sources of the economy of the Municipality that is developed in the urban area. However, rural settlements such as the Primero de Mayo neighborhood, give entrance to the main swamps of the Municipality and some bodies of water, which increases their wealth and tangible value.
