La unión marital de hecho es una forma de convivencia entre parejas que se ha convertido en un fenómeno común en nuestro país, el cual ha admitido jurídicamente el reconociendo de derechos a los compañeros permanentes heterosexuales y homosexuales, amparados bajo un régimen patrimonial con efectos civiles. Por ello se hace necesario revisar las diferencias entre la sociedad conyugal y la unión marital de hecho en Colombia.The purpose of this research work is to analyze the civil status of the de facto marital union and its patrimonial efectos in relation to the marital partnership and to identify the types and mechanisms that regulate such civil statuses. The de facto marital union is a form of cohabitación between couples that has become a common phenomenon in our country which has legally admitted the recognition of rights to permanent partners, heterosexual and homosexual protected under a patrimonial regime with civil effects.
