El municipio posee una conexión entre su entorno natural como lo son las termales “Los Chorros” y la reserva natural Mana Dulce con el paisaje urbano caracterizado por construcciones sencillas y funcionales. El reconocimiento del patrimonio en el municipio de Agua de Dios se plantea por medio de un estudio de paisaje como una herramienta para diseñar estrategias que aseguren la preservación y la puesta en valor de dicho patrimonio tanto en su entorno natural como en su espacio urbano, además de proponer acciones para su manejo territorial. Así mismo, definir objetivos para un futuro desarrollo de Agua de Dios, de forma que el patrimonio natural se proteja e inspire un sentido de pertenencia por el lugar, por medio de este instrumento que aporta criterios con el fin de cumplir dicho objetivo.The formation of Agua de Dios was determined by the grouping and exclusion of Hansen's disease (or leprosy) patients who arrived in the municipality at the end of the 19th century. The municipality maintains a connection between its natural environment, such as the "Los Chorros" hot springs and the Mana Dulce nature reserve, and the urban landscape characterized by simple and functional buildings. Heritage recognition in the municipality of Agua de Dios considers landscape studies as a tool for designing strategies to ensure the preservation and enhancement of this heritage, both in its natural environment and in its urban space, in addition to proposing actions for its territorial management.
