Se analizan varios casos históricos, como la Biblioteca Nacional, la Biblioteca Pública Piloto de Medellín, la Luis Ángel Arango y los Parques Biblioteca en Medellín, demostrando el impacto que estos espacios han tenido en la democratización del acceso al conocimiento, la inclusión social y la transformación urbana en diversas poblaciones. Además, se integran teorías y conceptos clave para el diseño de esta biblioteca. Estas incluyen la arquitectura multipropósito, la neuroarquitectura, y los espacios participativos e inclusivos, inspirados en investigaciones previas que destacan cómo las bibliotecas deben adaptarse a las nuevas dinámicas sociales y tecnológicas. El proyecto busca diseñar una biblioteca que no solo ofrezca acceso a la información, sino que también se convierta en un espacio que promueva el desarrollo del tejido social. La investigación se justifica debido a la necesidad de contar con un espacio arquitectónico multifuncional e inclusivo en Pitalito, que fomente la participación activa de la comunidad, atendiendo a sus necesidades educativas, culturales y sociales, al tiempo que genera un impacto positivo en la región.The research focuses on the design of a library for the municipality of Pitalito, Huila, Colombia, considering the relevance of libraries as cultural and social centers in the Colombian context. Several historical cases are analyzed, such as the National Library, the Pilot Public Library of Medellín, the Luis Ángel Arango and the Library Parks in Medellín, demonstrating the impact that these spaces have had on the democratization of access to knowledge, social inclusion and urban transformation in diverse populations. In addition, key theories and concepts are integrated into the design of this library. These include multipurpose architecture, neuroarchitecture, and participatory and inclusive spaces, inspired by previous research that highlights how libraries must adapt to new social and technological dynamics. The project seeks to design a library that not only offers access to information, but also becomes a space that promotes the development of the social fabric.
