La problemática central reside en como revitalizar este edificio, preservando la esencia histórica y arquitectónica mientras se adapta su interior y exterior a nuevos usos que respondan a las consideraciones actuales. Por esto, el documento presenta un análisis del contexto histórico, las características arquitectónicas del edificio y las necesidades actuales de la comunidad, este estudio proporciona estrategias específicas del reciclaje arquitectónico para regenerar el edificio de una manera sostenible y funcional. Este proyecto tiene el potencial de servir como modelo para la rehabilitación de otros edificios en desuso, aportando a la sostenibilidad urbana y la preservación cultural, mediante inspecciones visuales, estudios fotográficos y levantamientos arquitectónicos, identificando las áreas más afectadas por el deterioro. Además, el trabajo de investigación incluye evaluaciones energéticas y consideraciones de diseño urbano para preservar la integridad original del edificio ESSO mientras se adapta a los requisitos de uso moderno y la eficiencia. Los resultados de este estudio pretenden servir como un recurso valioso para los profesionales del diseño.This document addresses the architectural recycling of the ESSO building, an iconic example of modern architecture in the city from the 1950s. The central issue lyes in how to revitalize this building while preserving its historical and architectural essence, adapting both interior and exterior to new uses that meet today's considerations. Therefore, the document presents an analysis of the historical context, the architectural features of the building, and the current needs of the community. This study provides specific strategies for architectural recycling to regenerate the building in a sustainable and functional way. This project has the potential to serve as a model for the rehabilitation of other unused buildings, contributing to urban sustainability and cultural preservation, through visual inspections, photographic studies, and architectural surveys to identify the areas most affected by deterioration. Furthermore, the research includes energy evaluations and urban design considerations to preserve the original integrity of the ESSO building while adapting it to modern usage requirements and efficiency.
