En la cultura griega la filosofía logró cierta unidad comprendiendo su existencia y autenticidad como un problema de ella misma. La filosofía requiere un ejercicio de auto fundamentación que comprenda la importancia de la pregunta por la filosofía en el marco de un responder igualmente filosófico . Latinoamérica se ha enfrentado de forma análoga al problema de la existencia, autenticidad, validez y comportamiento de la filosofía. En este sentido, es concomitante a la formulación de la pregunta, cierto tipo de camino a seguir en el intento de respuesta, es decir, cierto tipo de metodología u horizonte desde el cual se encara el problema. ¿Existe una filosofía en América? Tal pregunta asecha las mentes incautas con un fastuoso atuendo. Sin embargo, si se reemplazan los términos para tenderle un ardid y revelar su forma, podríamos decir sin temor: “¿Es el caso que existe algo en la nevera?”.Latin American philosophy has faced the mirror. In Greek culture, philosophy achieved a certain unity by understanding its existence and authenticity as a problem of itself. Philosophy requires an exercise of self-foundation that understands the importance of the question of philosophy within the framework of an equally philosophical answer. Latin America has faced in an analogous way the problem of the existence, authenticity, validity and behavior of philosophy. In this sense, concomitant with the formulation of the question is a certain type of path to follow in the attempt to answer, that is to say, a certain type of methodology or horizon from which the problem is faced. Is there a philosophy in America? Such a question besets unwary minds in lavish attire.
