dc.descriptionThe aim of this article is to contrast the economic and organizational characteristics of the actors involved in management of development in Quindío Region under the principles proposed by the Theory of Local Economic Development (LED). An analytical empirical approach was used to conduct the study where a series of economic, social and political phenomena were identified and analyzed showing the causes and consequences and their relation to development in the region. It can be highlighted that individual interests and the search for leading roles of some of the agents and actors, the low participation of society, the ignorance of some individuals with power of decision regarding the local problematic, are some of the factors showed in the region that don´t allow the generation of more efficient dynamics. This analysis led to propose alternatives from the LED Theory point of view as an alternative to energize the region. The development of this work allowed acknowledging some economic and social dynamics with not satisfactory results and lowing impact concluding that the role played by the actors who manage the region development is inefficient, their objectives ae not clear, therefore, the economic policy model being used is not adequate to the current Region potentiality and endogenous resources.en
dc.descriptionEste artículo tiene como propósito contrastar las características económicas y organizacionales de los actores que gestionan el desarrollo en el departamento del Quindío, con los postulados propuestos por las teorías del Desarrollo Económico Local (DEL). Para su desarrollo, se utilizó un enfoque empírico analítico, donde se identificaron y analizaron una serie de fenómenos económicos, sociales y políticos que permitieron mostrar las causas, consecuencias y su relación con el desarrollo de la región. Se puede resaltar que los intereses individuales, el protagonismo de algunos agentes y actores, la baja participación de la sociedad, el desconocimiento que presentan los individuos que tienen el poder de decisión con respecto a las problemáticas locales, son algunos de los factores que presenta la región y no permiten generar dinámicas más eficientes. Este análisis permitió proponer alternativas desde el punto de vista de las teorías DEL, como una alternativa para dinamizar el departamento. El desarrollo de este trabajo hizo posible conocer algunas dinámicas económicas y sociales con resultados poco satisfactorios y de bajo impacto, que permiten concluir que el rol desempeñado por los actores que gestionan el desarrollo del departamento no es eficiente, sus objetivos no son claros, y por tal motivo, el enfoque y modelo de política económica que se viene ejecutando no es adecuado con  las potencialidades de los recursos endógenos existentes de la región.es
