dc.descriptionThe rights and duties of patients and doctors have always varied and been the subject of discussion; Furthermore, although they apparently oppose each other because they are at two extremes of the clinical relationship representing different areas of application in the provision of health services, the truth is that both suffered the attacks received by a sector that was hit especially in 2020 and 2021 by the arrival of COVID-19, an unprecedented event that generated great changes in the framework of the powers and commitments of both patients, doctors and health personnel in general. Both parties had to adapt, the doctors in their limited skills and resources, and the patients in understanding the priorities and guidelines adopted by the administration so as not to deteriorate public health. During that time, a notable impact was evident on both patients and healthcare personnel, thus creating a dilemma between which rights prevail and which duties become more relevant.en
dc.descriptionLos derechos y deberes de los pacientes y los médicos siempre han variado y han sido objeto de discusión; además, si bien aparentemente se contraponen por estar en dos extremos de la relación clínica representando distintos ámbitos de aplicación en la prestación del servicio de salud, lo cierto es que ambos sufrieron los embates recibidos por un sector que fue azotado especialmente en 2020 y 2021 por la llegada del COVID-19, un acontecimiento sin precedentes que generó grandes cambios en el marco de las facultades y compromisos tanto de los pacientes como de los médicos y el personal de salud en general. Ambas partes debieron adaptarse, los médicos en sus habilidades y recursos limitados, y los pacientes en entender las prioridades y los lineamientos adoptados por la administración para no desmejorar la salud pública. Durante ese tiempo se evidenció un notable impacto tanto en los pacientes como en el personal sanitario creando así una disyuntiva entre, qué derechos prevalecen y qué deberes cobran más relevancia.es
