dc.description“En el momento presente es imposible concebir una universidad sin pensar en lafunción de formar integralmente a los estudiantes†(LA PORTA. 1.998). Es imposible pensar una universidad, como institución de máximo nivel en la formación cultural, científica y tecnológica de un país, que no asuma su función en la formación de ciudadanía activa. Entre otras razones porque en ella están estudiando, conviviendo y están formándose algunos de los futuros y futuras líderes y probablemente la mayoría de hombres y mujeres que cuando se incorporen al mundo laboral serán trabajadores y empresarios de alta calificación, que sin duda, tomarán decisiones de implicación social y ciudadana y que en gran medida ejercerán las funciones de referentes de la comunidad. Este horizonte de comprensión es lo que hace de la formación en valoreso la formación humanística se haya convertido en un reto y en una urgencia inaplazable.Hoy las Instituciones Educativas, en particular las de formación superior tienen la magna responsabilidad de ofrecer una formación axiológica que permita unfortalecimiento de las dimensiones humanas más profundas que sirvan de base a la construcción del conocimiento, pues de nada serviría un profesional con grandes conocimientos si no tiene las competencias para hacer del él un aporte a la construcción de una sociedad que ha sido fragmentada y desangrada precisamente por la pérdida de los valores y del sentido de lo humano.es-ES
dc.descriptionAt the present time it’s impossible to conceive a University without thinking ofour function in the formation of integral students†(LA PORTA. 1.998)We can’t think of the university as an institution of maximum cultural level, scientific and technological formation of a country, which does not assume its function in the formation of an active citizen. Among other reasons, because within the university context there are cohabitants being formed, who will be the future leaders and probably the majority of men and women, incorporated to the working sector, that will be the highly qualified workers and entrepreneurs, undoubtedly making those decisions of social and political importance and assuming a role model for the community.This horizon of comprehension is what makes the formation on values ofhumanism a challenge; urgency impossible to be postponed. Today’s Educational Institutions, particularly those of superior character, have the honorable responsibility to offer an axiological formation that allows a strengthening of the deepest human dimensions as grounds for the construction of knowledge, taking into account that it would be worthless to have professionals of a wide knowledge but without the required competences to make a significant contribution to a society that has been fragmented and bleed due precisely to the lack of values and humanity.en-US
