    Abstract

    Las rotondas son una alternativa de infraestructura vial que busca impulsar el flujo de vehículos; mediante un buen estudio del diseño, el cual depende de diferentes aspectos como el comportamiento de los actores y otros fenómenos que se van desarrollando en el transcurso de este artículo. El objetivo de esta investigación es organizar de una forma consecuente aquellos factores que se deben tener en cuenta desde un comienzo en la planeación del tráfico en una rotonda, como: la capacidad de tráfico que puede abarcar este tipo de intersección hasta el análisis de las congestiones que se presentan in situ. A sí mismo, se presenta una revisión de artículos y estudios de modelación de tráfico aplicado a las rotondas, en varias zonas del mundo, con el propósito de dejar señalado lo más importante de los modelos en los diferentes software de tránsito, como son el VISSIM, entre otros
