    Abstract

    El trabajo de los peritos químicos forenses es vital para la identificación de sustancias encontradas en una escena y aún más para permitir al investigador relacionar dichas sustancias con los hechos ocurridos. En el caso de un accidente de tránsito en el que hay dos víctimas mortales y en el que se encuentra como evidencia una papeleta con una sustancia pulverulenta que se sospecha pueda tratarse de un estupefaciente como la cocaína, los procedimientos y análisis que se realizan en el laboratorio de química forense son trascendentales no sólo para lograr la identificación plena de la sustancia encontrada sino para establecer por medio de un posterior análisis toxicológico, si al ser un estupefaciente el conductor pudo consumirlo y presentar un estado de embriaguez por el cual se provocó dicho accidente
