    Abstract

    Esta investigación se realizó con el objetivo de hacer una contribución referente al desarrollo histórico de la figura del subsidio familiar en Colombia y su validación en el aporte a los beneficios de los trabajadores. Durante el desarrollo histórico del subsidio familiar creado con el fin social de alivianar cargas económicas al trabajador, lo cual transcendió a la creación de las cajas de compensación como simples administradoras del subsidio dado por los empleadores; posteriormente, se les da la potestad para ampliar su campo de acción como la salud, la recreación, el turismo, la educación, entre otros, todas inmersas en el mejoramiento integral de la calidad de vida de los afiliados mediante la prestación de servicios, siempre en pro al trabajador y con fundamento las misiones plasmadas en la presentación institucional de cada una de las Cajas de Compensación Familiar actuales en Colombia; Así mismo la contribución del sector empresarial se manifiesta por medio de aportes parafiscales determinados por la ley en tres sectores, Caja de Compensación Familiar direccionado al Subsidio Familiar, al ICBF en sus programas de bienestar social dirigidos a proteger la niñez y al SENA con programas de apoyo de formación y empleo para los jóvenes de escasos recursos, en torno a esto se evidencia una lucha social que ha abierto un debate en varias oportunidades se ha puesto en tela de juicio la disminución del aporte de empleador o incluso la eliminación de las contribuciones parafiscales, argumentando que de esta manera se disminuiría la informalidad y aumentaría la empleabilidad.
