The high degree of pollution and deterioration of the wetland is caused by the growth and urban expansion of the sector, the lack of appropriation of the local inhabitants and the low participation of the competent entities that regulate the protection of the same, are one of the main Problems; The focus of the present work is to achieve the recovery and revitalization of the Juan Amarillo Wetland through strategies that apply the "Transects" theory, improving the environmental character, the urban morphology of the sector, and the quality of life of the inhabitants, integrating this important element To the city through a system of inclusive public space, dynamism of the place from the activities that are made there and the development of different densities that allow the improvement of the existing urban conditions.     Abstract

    Los humedales bogotanos son ecosistemas de gran importancia biológica, social, cultural; de la misma forma la Estructura Ecológica Principal hacen parte del Sistema de Áreas Protegidas, entendida como el conjunto de espacios con valores singulares para el patrimonio natural, cuya conservación resulta imprescindible para el funcionamiento de los ecosistemas, la conservación de la biodiversidad y la evolución de la cultura en el Distrito Capital” (Secretaría Distrital de Ambiente, SDA, 2008). Teniendo en cuenta su trascendencia en diferentes aspectos, estas superficies presentan una serie de problemáticas con gran incidencia en el sector que repercuten no solo la integridad del ecosistema, en este caso puntual el Humedal Juan Amarillo, sino también el entorno del mismo. El alto grado de contaminación y deterioro del humedal es ocasionado por el crecimiento y expansión urbanística del sector, la falta de apropiación de los habitantes del lugar y la escasa participación de las entidades competentes que regulan la protección del mismo, son unas de las principales problemáticas; el enfoque del presente trabajo es lograr la recuperación y revitalización del Humedal Juan Amarillo mediante estrategias que apliquen la teoría de “Transectos”, mejorando el carácter medioambiental, la morfología urbana del sector, y la calidad de vida de los habitantes, integrando este importante elemento a la ciudad a través de un sistema de espacio público inclusivo, dinamismo del lugar a partir de las actividades que se planteen allí y el desarrollo de diferentes densidades que permitan mejorar las condiciones urbanas existentes.
