Estudio para la delimitación de polígomo de protección del centro histórico del Socorro Santander

Abstract

The municipality of Socorro Santander was declared in its old sector2 as a cultural interest of national scope by Decree 264 of 1963, its declaration was established by the role played during the process of independence of the Spanish Crown as the cradle of the revolt of the comuneros and the revolt of 10 of July of 1810, that resulted in the writing of the act of independence of Relief and the first constitution of America. In spite of the declaration made by the national government, the modification of the urban landscape, the streets of the old sector, park of independence and its framework has been systematic, without considering its importance of safeguarding the patrimony of the nation. This change has been generated by different factors, the population growth without urban expansion and the lack of regulatory instruments for the delimitation and maintenance of the urban image. The study for the delimitation of the protected area of the historic center, seeks to approach the valuation and identification of buildings, typologies and urban growth of the different eras, reconstructing the social, political determinants that were fundamental for the development of the municipality. Becoming a tool for the conservation and protection of the historic center and the identification of assets of historical, aesthetic and symbolic cultural interest in the municipality.
