Despite its value, the construction industry incomprehensibly, is one of the sectors that has less developed in the country, becoming an activity characterized by major shortcomings and lack of effectiveness, low productivity, poor quality, high accident rates, deviations in meeting deadlines and budgets, among others. As a solution to enforce this sector of the industry, Lean Construction philosophy that is rooted in Lean Production, applied to Toyota automotive system in Japan, which focuses on increasing product value appears from the elimination of any kind of activity that does not generate customer value, known as loss.     Abstract

    Es incuestionable que el sector de la construcción es muy significativo en la economía de un país, pues su dinámica, es un motor que impulsa de manera continua a la sociedad. A pesar de su valor, la industria de la construcción de manera incomprensible, es uno de los sectores que menor grado de desarrollo presenta en el país, convirtiéndose en una actividad caracterizada por grandes deficiencias y falta de efectividad, baja productividad, pobre calidad, altos índices de accidentes, desviaciones en cumplimiento de plazos y presupuestos, entre otros. Como una solución para dar fuerza a este sector de la industria, aparece la metodología Lean Construction, filosofía que tiene sus raíces en Lean Production, aplicada al sistema automotriz Toyota en Japón, la cual se enfoca en aumentar el valor del producto a partir de la eliminación de cualquier tipo de actividad que no genere valor para el cliente, conocido como pérdida. Luengas, C.A. (2011). Lean Construction se orienta en cambiar el pensamiento de la industria constructora impulsándola a desarrollar innovadoras estrategias y formas de trabajar a través de una metodología aplicada en los sistemas de gestión de calidad, planificación de las actividades semanales y reducción de pérdidas en el sector de la construcción, así como también el estudio de rendimientos de las actividades constructivas.
