El presente trabajo para optar por el grado de Arquitecto tiene como objetivo formular una propuesta de diseño urbano y paisajístico de la cuenca del río Pasto a su paso por la zona urbana de la ciudad. En el devenir histórico del desarrollo urbano de la ciudad de Pasto y sobre todo a partir de la explosión demográfica y desborde de las fronteras físicas naturales de mediados del siglo XX la ciudad creció de espaldas al río; lo utilizó como vía de evacuación de aguas servidas, y en algunos sitios de su recorrido por la ciudad lo estranguló y asfixió con construcciones cuyos cimientos arrancan del fondo de su rivera. Es el momento de volcar la mirada a su cuenca y buscar su “redesarrollo” integral, se busca mediante esta propuesta contribuir a mitigar las problemáticas del hábitat, ambientales, hidrológicas de calidad de vida y socioeconómicas. El presente trabajo consiste en un proyectar y diseñar el borde de ribera, la alameda y el recorrido de la masa de agua a lo largo del río Pasto a su paso por el centro de la ciudad; que integre los elementos físicos naturales y artificiales respetando el medio ambiente, convirtiéndose en elemento integrador y en una centralidad que enmarque la vida cotidiana de los habitantes de Pasto, el objetivo principal de esta intervención será devolverle el protagonismo a esta cuenca hidrográfica
Abstract
